In Ovar, tiles are a heritage asset and a differentiating element which marks the image and the history of the town. The expression “OVAR – TILE LIVING MUSEUM TOWN”, was born of the quantity and diversity of tile façades and ornaments dating back to the 19th and 20th century. To safeguard, enhance and preserve the ceramic heritage in 2000, was created the Atelier for the Conservation and Restoration of Tiles.
